A one-year post-FMS program that combines theory and practice. It leads to the Fachmaturität, which grants admission to universities of applied sciences. In Aarau in particular, the Education track (preparation for teacher training college) is in high demand.
At the end of the four-year Kanti program, students are typically tested on five subjects:

German (written and spoken)

Mathematics (written and oral)

A second language (French, Italian, Latin, or English—written and spoken)

The Major Subject (written and oral)

A fifth subject (e.g., history, biology, or physics—often designated by the school as either an oral or written exam).

In addition, there is the evaluation and the oral defense of the Maturität thesis.

The calculation: Course grades and exam grades each account for half of the final grade in the exam subjects. In the other doctoral subjects, only the final grade from the graduation year is used.

Passing Requirements: No more than four grades may be below 4.0. The total of all grade points below 4.0 must not exceed 2.0 points (e.g., two 3s or one 2). In addition, the total of all Matura grades must meet the cantonal minimum requirement.

Mid-May 2027: Official last day of school for graduating classes in Aargau.

Late May through June 2027: Written exams will be administered, followed by the oral Maturität exams, which will take place directly at the respective cantonal school in Aarau.

June 2027: Submission deadlines and specialized high school graduation exams.
