Frequently Asked Questions: French Tutoring in St. Gallen

ILS Tutoring offers tutoring in German, math, English, French, physics, geography, accounting, biology, chemistry, statistics, and economics. From elementary school through high school, we’re here to support you with our tutoring services.

Private French tutoring can take place as often as you'd like. You can schedule your French tutoring sessions on the days and at the times that work best for you.

Group tutoring for French takes place on Friday afternoons. You can find the exact dates and times on the website.

Private French tutoring sessions can be scheduled flexibly according to your preferred times from Monday through Saturday. You have complete freedom in choosing your schedule. Group French tutoring sessions take place on Friday afternoons. You can find the exact course schedules on our website.

If you're taking one-on-one French tutoring, you can get started anytime. We'll set up your course as soon as possible. Our group French tutoring classes start in September and run throughout the school year (excluding school breaks). You can join existing groups at any time.

Private French tutoring at ILS-Nachhilfe can take place either at our locations in Bern, Basel, Zurich, or Aarau, or at your home (in the Bern, St. Gallen, Aarau, Basel, and Zurich areas). For French tutoring at home, an additional fee of CHF 20 per session will be charged. Group French tutoring sessions always take place at our tutoring centers.

If you're not satisfied with your teacher, we're always ready to find a suitable solution and discuss the matter with the teacher. If you just don't click with the teacher, we can replace them and arrange for another teacher for your French course.

You can take one-on-one tutoring in all of the subjects listed. For German, math, and French, we also offer group tutoring. You can find detailed information about group tutoring for French on our website.

The French tutoring groups at ILS-Nachhilfe consist of a maximum of 5 students.

The groups in our French tutoring classes are organized as follows: Grades 4 and 5 form one group. Grades 6 and 7 form separate groups. Grades 8 and 9 form one group. If there is high demand, a separate group can be formed for each grade level. We also offer a separate exam preparation group for Gymi, FMS, and HMS.

At ILS Tutoring, you always have the option to take a no-obligation trial lesson, whether it’s a one-on-one or group French class. To schedule an appointment, contact our office or visit the Trial Lessons page on our website.

You can conveniently pay for the French tutoring you've booked by invoice or bank transfer within the specified time frame.

You can pay for your booked course in installments. If you'd like to pay in installments, please let us know.

If a class (group or private) is canceled for organizational reasons on our part, that class will be rescheduled.

Almost all of our French tutors hold at least a bachelor's degree. If you'd like a tutor with a specific qualification, please let us know.

French group courses at ILS Tutoring are designed to review and prepare students for the current school curriculum at their respective grade levels. In addition, students are always welcome to bring their own materials and ask questions about homework or class material.

In private French lessons, the lessons can be tailored completely to your needs. The tutor will help you delve deeper into the material you want to cover and work through practice materials that are right for you.

Homework help for German, math, and French is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. For registered students (enrolled in at least 4 lessons per week), homework help is free. If you’d like to sign up for homework help only, feel free to contact us at any time.

Registration for French tutoring in group classes is typically for two semesters. Upon request, it’s also possible to register for just one semester. However, if you join later in the semester, you can, of course, register for a shorter period. In that case, you’ll only pay for the lessons you actually attend.

You can generally take private French lessons for as long as you need. Sign up here for your desired lesson package.

If you realize that you don't need to use all your French lessons at once, they won't expire. You can either use the lessons at a later date, or we'll issue you a credit for the remaining lessons.

At ILS Tutoring, there is no registration fee for French tutoring.

With our group French tutoring classes, you’ll benefit from a two-week trial period. During this time, you can cancel your enrollment if you’re not satisfied. You’ll then only be charged for the hours you’ve already paid for.

With our private French lessons, you can enjoy a free, no-obligation trial lesson. Afterward, you can sign up for the lesson package of your choice.
